Dr. Serafim has a varied experience having trained with both Chiropractors and Physical therapist. Evaluation separates our approach because of the diversity in analyzing both how you move and why you have pain or dysfunction. His skills include specialized stretching techniques that utilize physiologic principles to greater affect for optimizing mobility with less pain. He relies on a variety of "soft tissue" techniques with and without tools. He is certified in Connectx ( a Graston like technique). Trigger point therapy is another common soft tissue utilized to alleviate painful muscular complaints.
Education
Dr. Serafim holds several degrees including a Doctorate from New York Chiropractic College (1998), a masters in Anatomy and physiology instruction from Northeast College of Health Sciences (2019) and a Bachelors degree in Applied Human Anatomy (1994).
Certification
Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB)
Dr. Serafim is one of several hundred Chiropractic rehabilitation specialist in the country. The approaches this certification allows differs than other chiropractors or physical therapist. Training is provided from the most prominent researchers/doctors in both chiropractic and physical therapy.
Functional Movement Systems I & II (FMS I &II)
The latest approach to physical medicine is movement analysis. It provides information that was not considered in the past and explains the underlying reasons of most movement related complaints. If forms the basis of the self care that maintains our patients pain free existence after our care restores the painful conditions that present.
